Big Bucks,

RE: "what happens when CPUs and linear/analog devices are cheap commodities with profit margins in the <10% range."

I have kicked myself for not buying LLTC and MXIM, two "linear/analog devices" companies, in the summer of '96. I have watched them compile a string of incredibly high margins which was maintained during the slowdown even when their sales failed to increase. Do you believe their margins will fall, and what is the specific mechanism that relates 12" fabs to their particular margins?

Thank you,

Cary
