Charters, I do not know who wrote that but if you noticed they speak of structure under the church and then the greeks. Give me 5 writers from 300 ad to 1500 ad that compare with any one of dozens of greeks like plato (the great allegory of the cave), aristotle, socrates, thracymacus, sophecles, plano and on and on. You will not find any. I have looked! Tell me who they are and I will read them. And given that intersting little bit of history how does one explain the treatment of galilalo and coprenicus in the 17th century. Most of what those monks were doing was coping greek stuff or making up gibberish describing how hell looks etc. The whole culture for 1600 hundred years was devoid of thinkers. Where are they ? who are they? Name them. Shakspear and who else. I would love to read just one who compared to any of the greek fellows I mention abvoe who lived in 400 bc!
