Regions Financial quarterly profit up 22 percent biz.yahoo.com Monday April 17, 6:14 am ET NEW YORK (Reuters) - Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE:RF), a large southeastern U.S. bank, on Monday posted a 22 percent rise in first-quarter profit, helped by stronger net interest income and record earnings at Morgan Keegan. Net income rose to $295 million, or 64 cents per share, from $242 million, or 51 cents a share, a year earlier. Analysts on average expected earnings of 62 cents a share, according to Reuters Estimates.
