What YOU and HIM want to do is say that $10B in 1968 is equivalent to $100B NOW. THis is pure crap ans YOU KNOW IT. Das was about 25 cents a gallon in 1968. Comic books ("graphic novels") were a dime; now their several books. Using your logic, Bill Gates couls have paid for the Civil War HIMSELF.

If the total cost of Iraq is $1T, that will be less than 12% of 1 year's GDP now. 3 years of Vietnam (1971-1973) cost 32% of GDP. NOW WHAT?

what is your assumption for future interest rate on the long bond? Need help with big numbers?
