The reason the bossa nova networks fail is that they are the same old concept of the traditional networks.

The mobile network that will supercede the traditonal ones, will be dirty cheap micro base stations, hanging from a lamp post spaced by a couple of hundred meters, not requiring RF planning, self adjusting kind of devices to whoich you can modify form the OSS.

You can connect to it via any air interface. Until this new animal comes along, there's no breakthrough.
