michael...

the drop in earnings from 96 to 97
could be related to cost of rev..

cost of rev. in 97 was 58.6 mil. compared
to 40.4 mil in fiscal 96.

in 1996 a major contract obtained on a fixed
price basis ( i believe with Mobil Nigeria ),
was completed at a materials cost substantially lower
than estimated in the original bid.

cost of rev increased as a % of rev to
87.8 % in 97 from
77.9 % in 96.

this explains the increased earnings
of $1.84 in 96 compared to the $1.02 in 97.
