Like I said: Are we confused yet?

Naaah.

Ocotber 12 as "Dia de La Raza" is totally familiar to me for the same reason there are no statues to Cortez in Mexico, no streets named after him, etc., namely, because the advent of the Spaniards meant the death of a number of great native cultures. Mexico being a mixed race country remembers and recalls the originals on the same day Columbus is alleged to have discovered America. It also pays homage to its mixed race population on the same day. A bit of innocent nose-thumbing that really is feeding gruel with a finger.

Ethnic pride is no big deal, nothing to get upset about, as Hanson seems to have done.
