I had a new roof put on last year. Used a company with a good reputation and went with GAF's best quality shingles. The shingles are 2 times thicker than good shingles and stiff, good for winds up to 110 mph. Look really nice. Most good shingles run about $40 a square, these ran $140. Didn't run the job cost up all that much because the tear off, new felt and rubber in the valleys plus the put on cost the same no matter what the shingles cost.
