Oops, sorry, LBJ did it too. And Iraq and Vietnam are roughly the same in terms of uselessness to US goals, self-defeating to the US on every level and costly as hell in terms of troops and treasure. If experts are right and the Iraq debacle ends up costing 2 trillion, that's enough to fix Social Security for 75 years, down the drain. And the Middle East is even less secure now, much more dangerous and they hate us and distrust much more than ever. The only winners are the gougers at the end of that $3.50 gas we see now. Bush-Cheney's closest pals.
