Actually, somebody, a really respected guy, did a study and the end product was that with a single payer system, including all the current uninsured, would be cheaper in total than the current system. So we could add the what, 30%?, that are uninsured for free.

I was surprised when I read it... but the more I read about the profits of the insurance companies, and their onerous demands to the providers, the more it makes sense.
