Geoff, I agree that gin tastes medicinal, some more than others. Nevertheless, I do like gin but don't drink it very often, as it seems to be more fattening than other liquors.

For me, I guess, it gets back to purity of language rather than mere purity of drink description--a larger cause or nemesis to me. But if you enjoy that drink, who am I to argue? I'd just rather not see it called a martini. <g> Yes, I realize that language is and always has been an evolving entity. - Holly
