All can goods should be dipped in a clorox wash.

cloroxprofessional.com

There is a concentration of clorox that will also destroy chemical sprays on foods.........the Fat Flush Diet uses it as a wash for all vegetables to remove various pesticides, etc. It's callled Dr. Parcell's Food Bath and it is one teaspoon of clorox to one gallon of water, according to the Fat FLush Diet but a less concentrated solution can also be used. It has to be clorox as other bleach's are different.

Apparently people in the service who were stationed in foreign countries use this bath to decontaminate foods.
