Flavored milk maker licenses General Mills brands
yahoo.reuters.com

NEW YORK, April 20 (Reuters) - Flavored milk producer Bravo! Foods International Corp. (BRVO.OB: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday said it had reached a five-year deal to sell milk that tastes like some of General Mills Inc.'s (GIS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) top cereals, including Trix and Cocoa Puffs.

Officials from both Bravo and General Mills declined to disclose the value of the agreement.

Trix, Cocoa Puffs and Wheaties-flavored single-servings of milk will be available for sale in vending machines, schools, convenience stores and larger retailers some time this summer, according to Bravo Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey Kaplan.

The license also covers General Mills' Lucky Charms, Count Chocula, Booberry and Frankenberry cereal brands.

Flavored milk has gained traction in the United States amid demands by parents and school systems for healthier foods for children. Health experts have linked sugary soft drinks to increased levels of childhood obesity and diabetes.

All of the General Mills branded products will be made of 1 percent milk containing added vitamins. The Trix and Cocoa Puffs milks will contain sugar, but Kaplan could not say how much.
