Yes, his options were tried, and failed.

Yes, the above is the gist of his other options. He also asked you of preemptive defense "Will it make us more secure to keep jabbing at every ghost we think we see?"

Does he think 911 is but a ghost we think we see? Does he think Iran openly desiring, even calling it a necessity if I remember right, to wipe Israel off the map, is a ghost we think we see?

Is he aware that Germany did not attack America? Does he feel our entrance into WW2 was a mistake too?

Is he aware that his arguments were made vehemently by Americans who felt it very unwise to enter WW2?

Do I think he fails to respond to your post because your questions take him to the end of his chain of logic, with no appropriate reply left which would justify his position?
