QNX Software systems is currently developing drivers for the new 9432 100 Mb/s chip for their QNX OS. The developer working on the driver stated that the chip is of much better design than the 21x40 chips from DEC. Since SMSC now designs and uses their own chips, it is possible that revenues from their NIC have a more significant effect on the bottom line.

I would be curious if anyone has spoken to the company recently about the relative performance of their various divisions (they may be in a blackout period if the Aug31 results are expected soon).
