OT: IF YOU'RE SO DAMN SMART, WHY AIN'T YOU RICH!

I'm reminded of an incident is a bar 30 years ago. I was gassing with my friends as we discussed economic theory and the way the world should work. When I got up to relieve my bladder, a drunk further down the bar who had been listening to our theories and frowning, stepped away from the bar and blocked my path to the restroom. Grabbing me by my shirt front and pulling my face close to his, he said with beery breath and a loud slurred voice,
"IF YOU'RE SO DAMN SMART, WHY AIN'T YOU RICH!"
I've often thought about that observation over the years, if I'm so damn smart, why ain't I rich? Before you raise me to guru status and use my opinions and theories in your investing, keep in mind that I haven't succeeded in making myself rich, yet. |
