Peter, Sorry about the delay in responding. My days have not been my own because of circumstances beyond my control, but all is well.

There was a bit more of a whisper that FDR intentionally had the Pacific Fleet assembled in Pearl Harbor. I remember reading a book titled "A Day Of Infamy", but it got little acceptance because it was written by an American socialist. Can't remember his name right now. I just thank God that Bull Halsey had the gonads to defy that executive order. Without his carrier task force, we would have had no navy in the Pacific but the plywood PT boats.

I think that W wanted to measure up to their standards, but the entire systems in DC, and the socialistic media, has hampered anything he has tried to do to return to ways that were much more noble than is allowed these days.

America is on the downward slope of the the same condition in "The Rise And Fall Of The Roman Empire". The lack of morals among the citizens has added to his futility.
