We have to support the troops in their mission.

The mission needs to be changed.

But if we support the change in the mission we don't support the troops.

Therefore we have to support the troops in the mission.

A few posts back you said that we need to change our direction. Therefore you do not support the mission. Therefore you do not support the troops.

For me I can separate the job of the troops which is following orders, and the job of leadership which is to decide what is best.

I disagree with the leadership. I know the troops are following orders as best they can...and I support that. You see if the troops didn't follow orders we would be worse off. I'm concerned that we have several Generals now calling for Rumsfeld's resignation. I'm concerned that 70% of the troops no longer believe in their mission, because when the armed forces question their mission they put themselves at risk.

It's my duty to the troops and my fellow Americans to get the deciders to move on policy issues. Failure to do that is failure to support the troops.
