4/21/06 Update
Bulba is back!
While I had a delightful trip the month I was away, the same can not be said of biotech stocks. When I last posted an update, 3/17, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 8.11% for the year. As of 4/21, its YTD gain is a mere 1.06%. However, the woes of the Biotech Index did not extend to RKRW's portfolio. It's now in first place, with an astounding 54.9% YTD gain (vs. 45.4% on 3/17). Although Wilder's portfolio did drop a smidgeon for the month, its 42.5% YTD gain still puts it in second place. And most amazing, unlike a few unlucky bulls in Espana, my own portfolio had a healthy month and holds third place with a 34.4% gain.
Reflecting biotech's losses for the month, the median YTD gain for all 40 Charity portfolios fell from 20.6% on 3/17 to 8.4% as of today's close. However, despite its decline, the median handily beats the 1.06% Biotech Index YTD gain noted above. And 31 of the 40 Charity portfolios are outperforming the Index, with only six in negative territory.
Here's the Unofficial Top Ten list on 4/21/06:

4/21/06
Rank Name Total
1 RKRW 54,915
2 WILDER 42,453
3 BULBA 34,369
4 CYRAN 31,177
5 GEORGE 24,486
6 JACK 24,078
7 MIKE 19,787
8 QUID 17,727
9 FILOF 16,605
10 IJ 16,405

(All corrections greatly appreciated. I did adjust PGONEIL's portfolio according to his post reflecting the ABGX munch. I also changed XYCT to CYCC and adjusted for the 1-10 reverse split.)
