NYC under water within 20 years is a kind of worst case scenario, but look at the efforts our government has expended on such lunacy as the Star Wars anti ballistic missile defense system. Did that make a lot of sense ? If we had real leadership in this country, they would be taking seriously some of the grave dangers that confront the country. Instead we have a born again fool telling us we have to "hear both sides", that stem cells are a violation of the sanctity of human life and that overturning Roe vs Wade is a "noble cause", and that staffing the Supreme Court with right wing ideologues is one of the most important accomplishments that there is. The people in this country who need to "get a grip" are those who voted for Bush because Rove agitated the Guns/Gays/Abortion/StemCells scarecrows. It's not an accident that Intel as a leading edge high tech company has stood the test of time. It's because Andy Gove knows that "Only the Paranoid Survive".
