Last night I opened a 1988 Chateau Rocher Bellevue Figeac - Saint Emillion. It cost 15.96 (including tax) about fifteen years ago. Rocher is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.

Nice rich, jammy first impression was that it had lost charm from excessive age. Parker had recommended drinking by a decade ago. As it had a chance to open and blossom it showed fruit and complexity. The bottle that had been its twin will probably get opened sometime this year.

IMHO the presence of CF explains the depth and complexity. I did not have the grape composition when I wrote the paragraph immediately above.
