It's Net PC's party, and it'll bail if it wants to
zdnet.com
What if you threw a party for all your customers that are interested in buying a network PC, and nobody showed up? You'd bail out of the market, which is exactly what IBM did last week. What if you aren't quite as willing to tell the Wintel duopoly that the net PC is a solution in search of a problem? You'd probably do what most of the other reluctant net PC brides did last week: Say you are still developing the net PC for a small niche of customers interested in buying a closed-box system.

I still think the Netpc is just MS reaction to the NC. I haven't figured out who would want it yet, so I don't think it will gain any market share.
