Of the wines listed I would say that Bonny Doon is a top flight producer.

I drank some of a magnum of 1966 Latour which had developed some ullage. It is a problem that a properly cared for screw cap is unlikely to face (I have never seem an ulled Boons Farm.) While it never dreamt of being a twenty dollar bottle, it was fantastic. Unfortunately the rest of my family agreed and it was quickly consumed.

Deep, rich ripe and ready to drink. Excellent color and lipid. Nose was very fulfilling. A magnum without ullage could well age another decade.

The economics make the price difference irrelevant to the price of a top flight wine. If some producers want to ensure that they are not selling any wines spoiled by the cork, I might understand.

In my life, I have drunk many hundreds of bottles of wine sealed with corks. I only remember one being corked. Until someone proves that the new technology is superior, skepticism has its place.
