the financial debacle on which we are on the verge would have happend with Gore OR Bush IMHO. I agree that the die was cast but Bush has definitely hastened the debacle's arrival. The Republicans' abandonment of even a semblance of fiscal responsibility is completely unprecedented. The GOP in charge of the purse strings is like Mohammed Atta in the cockpit. We're on a collision course with a harsh fiscal reality. Bush's war has also hastened the debacle by driving up oil prices. The price of oil now includes a "Bush risk premium."
