First they would have to see something coming. The splitting of a country is not as easy to see coming for most people. Do you remember the maps showing the blue blood states merged with Canada and Jesusland in the middle? Do you remember the blue bloods whining that they pay more in taxes and that the red states received more in federal spending?

The arrogant elitists believe that we cannot live without them. This is part of the reason they are so upset over the loss of control. Based on the current trajectory, the difference in ideals is likely to become larger rather than smaller. That being said, things swing like a pendulum, and we may just be seeing the end of a swing.

I hope that I am wrong, but I fear that I am right.
