>>NASA scientist James Hansen warned that environmental activists and the media better be more cautious with their rhetoric regarding "global warming."<<

The "Dimming Sun" show that Suma and I watched had an interesting flaw. I remarked about it earlier and have since reviewed it and chewed on it a bit.

Most of the show was about how the sun is dimming. Dimming has a cooling effect. Then without passing go and collecting $200, the show was about global warming and how sum dimming is "masking" global warming, which is as silly a statement as you can get. It doesn't mask it, it mitigates it. As I reflected on that disconnect, I concluded was that what they meant to say was that sun dimming was masking the greenhouse effect, that the greenhouse effect is actually worse than it seems because the temperature rise is being mitigated by sun dimming. Now that at least makes sense, true or not. The way they presented it, anyone listening critically would be doing some serious head scratching. It simply didn't make sense.

But if folks watch the show and just accept what is said, swallowing the message whole, sure they'll buy that the cooling is masking the warming. LOL.

>>a CBS News "60 Minutes" reporter recently compared skeptics of "global warming" to Holocaust deniers.<<

More nonsense. The Holocaust is part of history. Global warming is in the future. Skepticism about the historical record is, er, a bit different from skepticism about predictions in the far future.
