Just so. If we demanded the Israelis treat the Pals fairly, maybe insisted on UN Peacekeepers to monitor the return of ALL the illegal settlements and East Jerusalem, and insisted they open up THEIR nuclear weapons program to international inspection, the price of oil would drop $20 a bbl.

Having Israel as an ally goes against the national interest.
