I was reflecting on the political costs of energy. All the oil execs keep saying they are operating a free market. What a bunch of nonsense. Without the war, they wouldn't be pumping any oil in the first place. I think that it's time the government guided the companies to stop gouging prices when there are record inventories of gas and oil in the US. The transition from mtbe to ethanol was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Maybe they can adjust the standards to encourage a slower transition.
