Buddy, Speaking out, and financially controlling the actions of the state government are two completely different things. State senators, and representatives, are being bribed to vote the way the tourist industry tells them to.
Have you been to Buena Vista lately. That is where Disney World is, and not in Orlando. For more miles than a person can see, there is nothing but concrete, steel, and neon signs. Thousands of acres of land have been taken out of a productive position, and rendered useless for anything but what Disney, etal, wants to use them for. What this has done to the ecology of Florida, which was once unique, is a crime in my opinion.
The large number of retirees are mostly ignored. They don't have enough money to sway any legislator, unless they are among the few fat cats that have retired here. |
