I like Americans. Canadians are often too tight-butt and overly cautious. They don't loosen up the purse sufficiently to extend the future of their own part of the planet. CDN ownership of their own resources is less than it should be.

I always felt that merickans were more communicative, open and less judgmental. If national perspectives have any validity. The openeness and free spirited approach leads some to take the position that the merickan tourist is "brassy", but on the other hand why be afraid to express yourself?

Where merickans get a bad rap too, is their degree of caution at interaction in major centres like Cleveland and Buffalo. It is the environment. You don't talk to strangers there. Too dangerous. In the rural areas, or semi rural you will find people are completely helpful and open to new people. Again you have to flip flop as some of the more isolated people can be very suspicious of people comin round. The tendency is to misidentify them with nosy government people or media. To that end a maple leaf on the back pack does much to allay suspicion. Saying "about" and 'tomatoe' and 'eh' at the end of sentences would be a good idea as merickans use that as a marker to identify Canadians. And have some real estate to sell. Merickans are crazy about CDN land.
