I heard some Democrat on TV saying that a good way to lower the price of gas would be to suspend the federal and state tax on it.

That would really help a lot. Guess who would get the difference. First two don't count.

If the government were to do that, people would drive even more, making the problem even worse than it is now, and there would be no way out.
