How is this loss of revenue going to be compensated for with these low launch prices?


Usually the fastest Intel desktop and notebook chips (besides Extreme Edition) start around $650. At the other end of the scale the low-end Conroe, where most of the volume is at, is priced above the typical $163 or $178 low-end price points. There will be no instant cure for Intel revenues. AMD's revenues will probably feel a bigger effect a few quarters after the Woodcrest and Conroe launches, and not in a positive way.
