I'm rather astounded at your comment about no difference between the far right and the far left.

Some personality defect caused me to wade through an awful lot of the literature of economics. My conclusion is that the Austrian school came closest to some legitimate unified theory as to what works. They are closely aligned with what once was common wisdom in the U.S.

Much is counter-intuitive, at first. For better or worse, few of us are inclined to take time to seriously evaluate.
