I think if one had an off grid home with micro hydro, wind and or PV's an EV would be ideal for those short trips to town.

But I'm on the grid even though I have plans for that to change..but all I see is my electric rates going up with other energy costs.

And an EV wouldn't meet my need when I drive to and from Canada (1850 miles) a hybrid might.

But I'm also somewhat biased to bio mass fuels as 39 gallons of bio diesel and 147 gallons of WVO in my F350 do get me to and from Canada without a fuel stop at lower cost then any other alternative.

However I'm not fuelish to even think bio mass fuels can meet world demand.

The right alternatives in the right applications can add up to a big difference though.
