I agree with you that Vivus is keeping their powder dry....laying low until they can receive maximum return on their ad dollars. That means capacity to deliver, and that happens 1st quarter '98.

IMHO Vivus probably wants to expand capitalization..eventually get shares outstanding up around 100 million or more to achieve greater stock liquidity and attract some of the bigger fish. A secondary distribution or convertible bond offering to fund their expansion and/or ad plans might make a lot of sense.
