They do offer wire transfer. I haven't tried it yet, but its there under account options along with requesting a check. Your point is valid enough, but I think the mechanics of having checkwriting may overtax Datek's own capabilities and require the use of an outside money fund. Datek should clean up their act and make the services they do offer function to the level that people expect. With my PCFN account I don't have checkwriting either, just cash like Datek. On the two occasions that I wanted money out, I clicked on request funds and received a check 5 days later. This is good enough in my opinion, especially in the case of Datek where you don't want transfers to the money market fund interferring with your day trading.
