Why take them over if you can buy the assets in liquidation? As you point out, there is no senior management team in place. If I were interested I would wait. If I were one of their suppliers I would withdraw their lines of credit and make them pay cash on the barrel head. Also, the issue going forward will be whether they shipped goods (and counted them as revenues) knowing that they had not been ordered and that they would be returned. These kinds of shennanigans would have happened on the final day of a quarter when they realized they were going to miss their targets. Look for at least 5 years of earnings to be restated.
