As said, it looks more like that basket thinghie. The fund must have rules to adapt the shares/issued by price to real stocks.
Being an ETF, you never can tell. Some ETF short interests have been higher then the total authorized shares.

Just noticed that I didn't pay much attention to the name of these funds:
GLD is an ETF (next to to the derivatives=sewage <g>)

Whereas IAU are the iShares of which the deposits are published at the Comex nymex.com

SLV also are iShares, I suppose to be published there also.

So, have to read some before talking further of what I don't know.<g>
