re: Tench has his own version of history. It isn't at all like what I witnessed at the time, but... He and the rest just keep repeating the dogma, even though there is no reality behind it. I often wonder if they sincerely believe it, or if they are so emotionally tied to their perspective that the big lie is purposely more satisfying then the small truth. Have we become so partisan that truth has no place left... just 'soundbites' that somehow make you feel good about your decisions? Are we so partisan that the 'team' (Rep/Dem, conservative/liberal) has become more important then the country? Growing up as a Chicago Bears fan, we thought the Green Bay Packers were evil. And they thought the same about us. This has the same adolescent feel to it.
