SF is a beautiful place to visit, but the last time we were there, it was dirty...streets, sidewalks, airport, etc....people notice that kind of thing, and remember. If the outside is dirty, it makes me wonder what the inside looks like....probably much worse.

Portland is having the same problem. I saw a report yesterday on NWCN that reported businesses are leaving downtown Portland due to problems with the aggressive panhandlers. If they don't get the problem under control, people will stop coming downtown. Similar to Seattle some years back. Seattle wisely cracked down on the problem.
