Pat, streettracks are the IAU "trust" not iShares GLD "ETF".
I will stop posting about this until I've read all the filings <vbg>

Note that, as I keep posting recurrently, the question is not to be right an assumption, trading is about what the crowd believes to be right.

In essence, we could construct strategies on the erroneous actions of the crowd, who does not differentiates IAU and GLD.
For instance: no uptick rule on the ETF, short interest can be higher then authorized shares. Is this true for the trust? I am not positive yet.
Could make a helluva difference.

Rule of thumb, the crowd trades GLD, savvy specs trade the IAU.
Corollary, your broker sells you GLD.
