Question:

If we were to publish a list of the top recommended posts in the past "x" days, would it be best to base it on posts made in the past "x" days, or recommendations made in the past "x" days?

I'm thinking the latter since it will reflect recommendations of posts most recently read and will also be weighted towards more recent posts since that's what most users are reading.

In either case we would count only the first recommendation a user makes for any post and ignore any duplicates in order to prevent manipulation.
