F5's FirePass(R) 4100 Controller Selected ``Hot Pick'' by Information
Security Magazine

Leading IT Security Publication Calls FirePass a Superior SSL VPN
Solution Based on the Product's Great Flexibility, Broad Range of
Access Capabilities, and Ease of Use

LAS VEGAS--May 1, 2006--F5 Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced its
FirePass(R) 4100 Controller v5.5 has been awarded a "Hot Pick" by Information Security Magazine for its versatility, ease of use and scalability. The "Hot Pick" designation is awarded to products demonstrating superior performance capabilities in product testing.
"The FirePass 4100 is one of the most flexible, capable and secure devices available. It works with virtually any browser, operating system, terminal protocol and device ranging from enterprise servers to cell phones," writes Wayne Rash, Reviews Editor for Information Security Magazine. "This is arguably the best remote access product we've seen in recent memory."
The latest version of F5's FirePass can now enforce policies and check update status on more than 100 anti-virus and personal firewall products. Some of the robust features include four gigabit ports that can handle separate networks, the ability to cluster or offload SSL processing to other devices to improve scalability, easy and flexible administration, an intuitive management interface, and well-designed wizards.
This marks the second "Hot Pick" for the SSL VPN device -- improving upon an earlier version named as a Hot Pick in January 2005. With an enhanced Visual Policy Editor, FirePass keeps complex management simple by clearly dividing each task into its component functions. Additionally, the FirePass product can leverage the
BIG-IP(R) Application Delivery System for centralized security and access control for WLAN, LAN, and remote users.
"We are pleased that Information Security has chosen the FirePass 4100 as a 'Hot Pick' for a second year in a row," said Ameet Dhillon, Director of Product Management at F5. "We appreciate their recognition of our efforts to make an award-winning product even better. This acknowledgment is a testament of FirePass' ability to deliver superior functionality, security, and performance optimization for complex enterprise applications."

About FirePass Controller

The FirePass Controller is the industry's first SSL VPN solution that provides complete cross-platform support and the broadest application access, including web hosts, client-server applications, and legacy hosts. Unlike IPSec VPN products that require the installation of special client software, the FirePass solution offers a clientless SSL VPN service that leverages any standard browser interface. It also offers the only open API (Application Programming
Interface) and SDK (Software Developer's Kit) that enables 3rd party application vendors to build seamless, secure remote access into their client applications.
