< what's your religion -- technology?> Far from it. Human intelligence and ingenuity in all its forms CAN be extraordinarily beneficial. Technology is simply the expression of where we are today -- and where we are today with our current technology, in comparison with our potential to do far better, is pathetic. There is no excuse for our waste of energy today. There is no excuse for our headlong destruction of the ecosphere that was kind enough to provide all we need to live well. It is sad that the best example of human creativity is so often devoted to the area known as "excuses". Well, there is no excuse in my opinion -- we are blinded by greed and the illusion that a free ride is sweet and costless.
