I am not trying to make light of the situation but the anti war folks, though not neocons are indeed wilsonian idealists who are not considering the consequences of their actions. By the way, if saddams slaughter was more public, and if the the al jazeera folks werent doing their share of brainwashing, and if Israel was being demonized while the palestinians were being lionized, the american left would have been firmly behind Bush in iraq. With Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson now speaking up against the arab sudanese who as recently as a year ago they were lauding, this darfur thing will be a hard trainwreck to derail. When whitefolks react negatively to entering something that may be a more clear quagmire than iraq was, then some of these folks can charge racism. Full circle is full circle.
