Funny, none of those 2008 predictors mention Kerry who may be the real frontrunner. I see fast-sliding interest in Hillary, Guliani, McCain, Allen, Jeb Bush, Bayh and Gingrich, which leaves Warner, Romney and Kerry, plus a bunch of also-rans and Gore who is not running, though I suppose he could change his mind. Ditto Jeb Bush. And forget about Frist, Condi Rice, John Edwards and Bill Richardson. Some of them are VP choices maybe but I like Wes Clark best for VP since a lot of military clean-up will be needed.
Biden is fairly strong, but he's like Kerry without the military record and the money. Feingold may win the left, but he's only a power-broker. Besides, if the Dems take back congress the war will be over or all but over by 2008. |
