I just find it very ironic that "all of a sudden" you guys are all hopping on the bandwagon to send NATO forces into Darfur...

Because you happen to see a post today you assume that this interest in intervening is "all of a sudden". That's pretty stupid.

YET.. the situation in Darfur has been a problem for the past two years and I don't believe I've seen either of you discuss the idea of military intervention in the region until Clooney has his rally!!!

You may not have. I couldn't tell you one way or another whether geode and I have brought it up. If you were to research the posts, what you would find is that I entered this recent discussion because someone said that George Clooney was asking for US intervention and I knew that wasn't true. So you should turn your attention to the bozo [or bozette] that brought that up.

AND IN CASE YOU JUST HAPPENED TO DELIBERATE IGNORE MY COMMENT AS TO WHETHER I SUPPORT SUCH AN INTERVENTION... I reiterate that I'm not against such a military intervention.

I saw the previous comment. It seemed like you were making a statement for the record. Were you expecting an applause or some other sort of recognition?

So maybe y'all can quit your belly aching and targeting the messenger and tell us what you're willing to support in this exercise.

I don't believe that geode and I were belly aching. We were discussing your mental state. And I was specifically expressing my concern for those people around you if you ever begin to challenge what you're told [by the Bush Administration].

Btw, Sudan has a population of 40 million people. This is TWICE as many as Iraq. So if 150,000 troops wasn't enough in Iraq, how many is it going to take to "pacify" a country of twice that many people???

A different situation. You care to throw another dart and guess why? You've never been right on a dart throw before, but I'm willing to give you a shot.

And considering the fact that the current UN humanitarian mission has been forced to cut rations by 1/2 due to lack of money, one has to ask WHY was this situation permitted to occur in the first place??

A problem because the way the UN works. Kofi has to beg for money from the member countries for each and every UN mission. Kofi had a proposal to deal with that, but you conservatives opposed it.

And while you're all reiterating the liberal pundits who are stating that we should IMMEDIATELY LEAVE IRAQ should it collapse into an all-out civil war

That isn't what I suggested. I suggested something different but you probably didn't see that post.....Actually, I think you did. I remember discussing that with you, you just don't remember. Which you shouldn't take as a criticism, it would be completely unreasonable for anyone to remember each and every discussion that they've had on SI and with whom.

Where was the UN and all of those high-minded liberal elites while the current administration has been embarked for the past year in trying to get UNSC peace-keeping forces into the region??

You should look that up. There have been other countries involved. You're just not aware of it, because it didn't involve the US.
