The secret to keeping wines for a long time is buying in large quantities. If you owned hundreds of bottles you would have a difficult time drinking them all that soon. the time is approaching when I will be forced into another buying binge. I bought heavily in the last half of the eighties and the 1990 vintages. I am beginning to shift from "will I ever drink all of this" to "what can I possibly spare". In generally the more wine you own, the more you can benefit from buying wines that can benefit from aging.
