I've heard that many street drugs got their start as a prescription drug. Ecstacy was one covered on a recent TV program.

I had a minor surgery a few years ago in Juneau. They gave me some Tylenol with codeine for the recovery pain, but I didn't take it. I kept it in my shaving kit in case I got hurt on a trip, and somewhere along the way it disappeared. The cleaning lady got it, no doubt.
