Of course. Here is another link to the PLANTS database, which is the scientifically accepted standard for taxonomy. plants.usda.gov

Before the Plants Database was a database online, I actually got an extract from it for Alaska and built my own little database up there. I modified it to account for local names and link back and forth between the plant symbols. My database worked just as well as theirs, but it wasn't online and it wasn't standard.
